Dr. Lura Orsino
Seeing a patient smile who was self-conscious about his or her teeth or afraid of coming to the dentist brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am committed to providing my patients with an exceptional doctor/patient collaborative experience. This allows me to treat each patient with care and compassion, and communicate effectively without causing unecessary stress or conflict.
I am the daughter of first generation Filipino parents. I grew up in the South Bay Area in Cupertino, California when it was a small, growing community filled with fruit orchards. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis and attended Temple University in Philadelphia where I received my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. After living and practicing dentistry for 20 years in the Philadelphia area, I decided to move back home to California where I continue to practice and serve in my community. In 2012 and 2017, I went on dental missions to Jamaica and St. Lucia, respectively, to restore and extract teeth on patients who were unable to afford dental treatment. By improving the appearance of each of their smiles, I helped build their confidence and improve their chances of getting a job in their country, which would have been difficult if they had decayed or fractured front teeth. It was a life-changing experience for me.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, exploring tide pools and playing the piano. I occassionally piano accompany the men's choir at St. Joseph Morello in Granite Bay, California. Most recently, I have been involved in training and competing in the IFBB Professional bodybuilding competitions. Being involved in this sport has allowed me to not only improve my health and fitness, but to also send a message and prove that age is not a factor when it comes to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

I will evaluate your particular problem, and decide with you what the most appropriate treatment for that problem should be. My goal is to help you to understand your problem, and advise you about the treatment options. There are often different ways to treat dental problems and conditions. My job is to determine what is bothering you the most, define what your problem is, and explain to you the benefits and consequences of the different treatment options. Together, we can decide what will be the best treatment plan, and then proceed with that.
